Managing HP remote secure erase packages

Once you've enabled HP remote secure erase (RSE) on your core server, you can create, import, and export HP RSE packages. You must use the Management Suite console on the core server to manage RSE packages.

To create an HP RSE package
  1. Click Configure > HP Remote Secure Erase Package Manager.
  2. In the HP Remote Secure Erase Package Manager dialog box, enter a company and package name. The package name string is stored in the HP ElitePad BIOS, and the package name is displayed in the HP RSE dialog boxes. There's a 20 character size limit for each field. You can use single-byte or double-byte characters.
  3. Click Create. The HP RSE utility generates a provisioning package based on the information you entered.
To import an HP RSE package from another core server
  1. Copy the keys from the other core server to the core server that you're working on. The files are in the RSE keys folder (C:\Program Files\LANDesk\Shared Files\Keys\Rse). Copy the folders you want (including the folder name based on the key hash) and the four files in that folder.
  2. Click Configure > HP Remote Secure Erase Package Manager.
  3. In the HP remote secure erase package manager dialog box, select each key that you want to import and click Import. This adds the selected keys to the database and removes them from the list.
To export a first-time HP RSE package to a USB drive
  1. Click Configure > HP Remote Secure Erase Package Manager.
  2. In the HP remote secure erase package manager dialog box, select the package you want to export and click Export.
  3. Select a location for the exported files and click OK.
  4. Copy the files to the root of a FAT or FAT32-formatted USB drive.
