Use HP Battery Check

HP Battery Check provides useful information about your HP device's battery health and status. You can use this information to get the most out of your hardware investments and to plan and prepare to replace old or defective batteries.

IMPORTANT: Verify the proper version of HP Battery Check
The HP Battery Check software you install must be version 4.1 or greater.

IMPORTANT: HP Battery Check cannot be installed on a device that already has HP Support Assistant
In order to install the HP Battery Check software, you must first ensure that the HP Support Assistant utility is not already installed on the HP device. If it is, you must uninstall HP Support Assistant and then install HP Battery Check (version 4.1 or greater).

Unlike HP Power Assistant, HP Battery Check itself is NOT configurable. The scanner runs every 14 days and the scanned information is entered in to the LANDESK database where you can view it in the device inventory. (NOTE: This data can also be viewed in the new HP-specific reports in the Reports tool.)

To view the HP Battery Check data in the inventory
  1. Select an HP device from the Network View in the console.
  2. Right-click the device, and then click Inventory.
  3. Open the Hewlett-Packard node, and select Battery to see all of the data.
